The organization “First Aid Support Team” (F.A.S.T.), integrated by foreign residents in Camposol urbanization, has celebrated this morning its I Open Day about first aid in which its volunteers have advanced in the practice of this kind of techniques, for which they have all type equipment like RCP dummies  that simulate from babies to adults, desfibrillators in English that indicate the steps that the volunteer have to follow and even a breastplate to practice the first aid in choking.

To this Open Day have attended the councilors for Foreign Residents, José Gómez, councilor for Civil Protection, Miguel Mª García, and the councilor for Citizen Particiption, David Fernández. The councilors have been received by the president of F.A.S.T., Gerry Bradshaw, who has explained them the acitivities and the courses that this organization carries out. F.A.S.T. works in Camposol urbanization coming with speed to whatever citizen  call, giving first aid that, in occasions, are essential before of the arrival of the emergency services.

F.A.S.T. was born in June 2011 and since then are moving to the foreign residents that, after calling to the number 1-1-2 and giving the details  of the facts to the emergency services, can call to the telephone 968 970 626 for that the volunteers of this organization arrive quickly. The councilors that have come to the Open Day have coincided that it is a good initiative and it is one more example of the interest of the foreign residents to improve and support to the emergency services. In this sense, F.A.S.T. has the support of other organization as “Protection and Life Saving” (PALS) that recently has donated an ambulance for the town.

F.A.S.T. celebrates during the year different events to raise funds  for the organization. Concretely, next  24h August  will be held a flamenco show, while that on  11th October will be held a night of comedy and cabaret. Close to the Christmas celebrations, F.A.S.T. will celebrate as well a fair on 23rd November for 1 euro and on 11th December will be held a “Christmas party”.
