CARNIVAL, I LOVE YOU!

For first time the Carnival arrives to Port of Mazarrón with a parade by the promenade

Next week arrives the celebration of the carnivals,one of the festive events most loved by the citizens of Mazarrón, which have a high participation of schools and groups of the town. This year the planned acts by Festival (celebrations) council  will start on Saturday 18th February with the election, from 7 pm, of the Children Muse female and male. The election will take place in “La Aceña” sports pavilion.

This place will receive from 9 pm the Carnival proclamation that this year will be done by the queen of the local festivities, María de los Ángeles Izquierdo Alarcón. After the proclamation it will celebrate the designation of the Carnival Muse  2012, who will  Lorena López Díaz of the group “Caño del Molino”, and it will know as well the name of the carnival person of the year. The evening will be entertained by  “Caché” orchestra.

Sunday 19 February is the novelty of this year. For first time, it will do a Carnival parade on Port of  Mazarrón from  11 am that will walk the promenade of the Port, starting in  El Rihuete and finishing on the Wharf Esplanade, at request of Terpsícore dance studio, who has asked to Festival council can parade by the seaside . The festival council, Isidro Coy, has encouraged to the citizens of Port  “to participate adding to the parade, to share with friends and neighbours a nice and fun morning”.

In the atternoon, from 4, will take place in Mazarrón the expected Large Carnival Parade. The Parade will start next to to La Aceña school and  Domingo Valdivieso highschool to walk the streets  Santo Tomás, La Vía,  San Pascual,  La Constitución avenue, Callao and  Convento squares. The party will go on with good music with which everybody can dance in the muninicipal carp in Town Hall square.

Monday 20th February the Town Hall square will receive, from 9:30 pm, the Great Dance of Masks, during which  the chiringuitos (small bars) of the carp will give cuerva (Carnival typical drink) to the attendees. There will be awards for the  comparsa (group of people costumed) of the night, which will be composed as minimum of 6 people, and as well  for the most original individual costume. Tuesday 21st February the municipal carp will receive the end of the party from 8pm with a joke performance  and will be given the awards of the Dance of Masks. The farewell of Don Carnival, who turn on in flame, will put the end to the celebrations this year.
