COVID19 SITUATION
The City Council have taken the following steps
In view of the recent increase of COVID-19 positive cases detected in the municipality of Mazarron, on behalf of the Mayor Gaspar Miras, I wish to reassure all non Spanish speaking residents that the Mayor is monitoring the situation extremely closely and he is in constant contact with the Regional Health Authorities, from whom he receives continuous updates.
We, the Councillors, are constantly kept informed of any developments and it will be my priority to inform my Constituency of any decision taken.
For the moment, waiting for developments in the next 24/48 hours, the City Council have taken the following steps:
▪️ Open-air film screening of the summer cinema on the beach of La Isla has been suspended for tomorrow, Tuesday, and the rest of the activities are pending the evolution of the situation for the next 48 hours.
▪️ The parks and gardens are still closed and they are being re-sealed. Please do not remove this sign.
▪️ The cleaning and disinfection will be intensified in the municipality as a measure to combat coronavirus.
▪️ The weekend markets would suffer restrictions, enabling only the food stalls if the situation does not stabilize.
We recall the importance of strictly complying with hygiene and safety measures: the mandatory use of a mask, respecting social distance and hand washing or the use of hydroalcoholic gel.
The Mayor's message is clear: 'In this difficult and delicate time for the people of the Municipality, it is essential to maintain the strictest safety measures and adhere to the restrictions in place for one's own safety as well as for the safety of all who come into contact with him/her. However, there is no need to panic and with the maximum cooperation and coordination, we will overcome these trying times.'
