MAZARRON CARNIVAL IS BACK ON: FEBRUARY 25-27
The full programme of the Mazarrón carnival 2022, which this year will run for just one weekend
The Town Hall of Mazarrón are delighted to have been able to confirm that this year it will be one of the relatively municipalities in the Region of Murcia to renew celebrations of the traditional February Carnival after the pandemic forced its suspension in 2021, and invite all residents and visitors to enjoy the spectacle over the weekend of February 25-27.
In the context of Covid it is not feasible to organize as many events as in the past, but nonetheless a busy weekend has been scheduled as follows:
Friday February 25
9.30 pm: A gala to elect the “Musas”, “Musos” and the “Carnavaler@ del Año” at the La Aceña sports hall. Admission free of charge.
Saturday February 26
11.00 am – 2.00 pm: Free Carnival workshops for children in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento in Mazarrón. Activities include mask-making, make-up, costumes, musical instruments, etc.
5.00 pm: CHILDREN’S CARNIVAL PARADE in the Avenida de la Constitución, from the old Guardia Civil headquarters to the petrol station.
Sunday February 27
11.00 am – 2.00 pm: Free Carnival workshops for children on the seafront promenade in Puerto de Mazarrón. Activities include mask-making, make-up, costumes, musical instruments, etc.
5.30 pm: MAIN CARNIVAL PARADE in the Avenida de la Constitución, from the old Guardia Civil headquarters to the petrol station.
At the same time, fairground attractions are in place until Sunday outside the old Guardia Civil barracks in Mazarrón, opening at 5.00 pm on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and at 11.00 am on Saturday and Sunday (with a brief pause while the parades take place).
