MAZARRÓN IS SHOWN AS ONE OF THE MUNICIPALITIES WITH THE LEAST MOBILITY PER INHABITANT IN SPAIN DURING THE STATE OF EMERGENCY

As extracted from the data offered by the official website of the National Statistics Institute (INE)

As revealed by the 'Study of the mobility of the population during the state of emergency' that the INE has prepared from the movements of mobile phones, the percentage of inhabitants of Mazarrón who have travelled outside their area of residence since decreed the confinement caused by the coronavirus pandemic is one of the lowest in the Region of Murcia and even the whole of Spain.

According to the map by municipalities that is hosted at the address https://www.ine.es/covid/covid_movilidad.htm, Mazarrón has less than 4% mobility in recent days and has even reached very low ratios, moving between 1 and 2%.

The data presented comes from the analysis of the position of more than 80% of mobile phones in all of Spain and was prepared by INE in close collaboration with the three main mobile phone operators (Orange, Telefónica and Vodafone). Data is offered from March 16 every other day and from March 31, daily data showing who is outside their usual area of residence during normal business hours (10 am to 4 pm).

The Mayor of Mazarrón, Gaspar Miras, has highly valued the data since "it shows that the residents of Mazarrón are complying with the confinement regulations and the expansion of the coronavirus is being successfully contained, which is praiseworthy." The Mayor added that for a week, we have had no new cases of coronavirus in the municipality and we are on the right track to end this epidemic from which we began to see the light at the end of the tunnel".
