The council of Social Policy, Equality, Health, Heritage and Museums, María Martínez, gave yesterday, with the Mayor of Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo; a news conference in which she proposed the objectives of her councilors delegated for the current legislature. The council told a large number of goals to short and long term beginning for the services and buildings linked to the area of Equality. In this sense, Martínez started for the Care Center for Women Victims of Domestic Violence (CAVI) where is expected create a local table of coordination with the agents and security forces that intervene in these kind of  cases for better coordination. Also, CAVI will go to the schools, high schools and districts where will be given talks and activities of awareness.

In regard to the Center of Child Development and Early Care (CDIAT) will adapt the timetable of pool to the needs of users and teachers, making effective the grant of ASPADEM so that the expenses of maintenance will be viable. Also will work for an improvement of the facilities and will sign new agreements and will improve the existing for  programs like the programs carried out in the schools for the detection of problems in children that this year has given a positve result. This empowerment of the agreements means a greater effort of the Town Hall as the Autonomous Community has reduced its  contribution of 93.660 euros in 2011 to 84.294 euros in 2012, being the contribution of the Town Hall of 186.200 euros the last year to  203.553 euros in the current.

The Day Care Center Disabled People  (CDPD) has an objective to long term that is to get an own building for its location, and also to get a decent transport for its users as one of the vans that provides the service of transfer has continuous breakdowns. Face to these goals to very long term, it will be effective in the following weeks the extension of the service with the admission of  5 new users. Also, it is intended to extend this service to 30 places so that there aren´t people in waiting  list several years. Finally, The Town Hall  will work so that the Day Care Center of Old People (CDPM) be a center of diurnal rooms for old people that is the purpose for which it was opened, endowing of the necessary services and that haven´t been provided yet as nursing, carers and  technicians sociohealth.

In the area of Social Policy is a primordial objective to speed up the municipal aid to the neediest  families, decreasing the time since the request until the collection. Also, it will be changed the current bylaw so that the applicants are exempt of the obligations of the Grants general Law that, sometimes, makes non-viable the collection of the differet aid. Also, it is intended that the  money of the municipal aid  destined to the feeding goes in business of the town that make social actions. Other aspects in which we will work is to speed the municipal intervention regarding the  Dependence Law and that the Social Services have also presence in the districts making in the social centers of Cañada de Gallego and Pastrana, in addition to the possibility of also attend to Leiva or Majada.

In Social Policy also it will promote the new program of  “Banco de libros (bank of books)” to which are called to participate all those families that have books that have not been changed for this course. Those interested can go to register to their schools to help to families with difficulties before the course initiation. Social Policy will promote also the realization of summer camps in collaboration with Red Cross, it will be requested to destine between a 5% and a 10% of the places of the sport schools to children with psychological care and it will be extended the project of  social orchards “HUSFA” to other areas of the town as Puerto de Mazarrón and Cañada de Gallego.

Regarding to Health it has been determined to carry out the extension of the cemetery  of Puerto de Mazarrón. One of the main works that will undertake the Town Hall in this area will be to get that the Autonomous Community opens the emergency service of the Health Center of  Puerto during all the year. Also it will work in advance  to the arrival of the summer with Murcia Health Service (SMS) to avoid a new closure of the health center of Majada during July and August, as has happened this year. It will be undertaken the needs of the health center of Camposol solving the problems that it has, even to depurate responsibilities. The maintenance of the cemeteries with the change of perimeter roofs will be other of the objectives of this council.

Regarding to the Historical Heritage and Museums will be worked to energize the Roman Fish salting Factory so that it stops of being a static space and receives concerts and other kind of activities that motivate to the visitors, or neighbors, to come back. It will be one of the objectives of this council to value the archaeological sites, even  becoming the house  “Don Zenón” in  La Cañadica in a museum about the history of Mazarrón that shelter most of the 190 boxes of material  of which has as deposit in the municipal and autonomic stores. It will be filled of content the first floor of the Torre de los Caballos with new archaeological pieces, and outside of the Castle of  Vélez will be visitable thanks to a gardening, as it was projected in its original idea. Finally, and a very long term for the economic difficulty of the projects, it will work to make visitable in situ the Phoenician Boat  so that it doesn´t go out of its current location and it will be untertaken the rehabilitation of Ateneo Cultural in which, in the short term, will work to prevent the advance of its deterioration.
