The Town Hall of Mazarrón is continuing its efforts to clear away the scrub and undergrowth which has appeared this spring after the heavy rainfall in March and April, concentrating the work at present in areas of Camposol, Puerto de Mazarrón, El Alamillo, Playasol, Bolnuevo, the coastline and outlying villages as well as the town itself.

As temperatures rise the vegetation is not only an inconvenience in many places: it hinders drivers who are unable to see around bends and as it dries out it represents a considerable fire risk.

It is anticipated that the work will last for another fortnight or so, after which the amount of extraneous plant life along the roads and streets of Mazarrón will have been reduced in time for the summer tourist season.
