The town hall gives 150.000 euros monthly to this group until reach 8.545.721,44 euros in May 2018
This morning the Mayor of Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo, and the president of Real Estate Lábaro Group S.A., David Caballero, have signed an agreement in which the town hall of Mazarrón commits to settle the historical debt that the town has with the rubbish company ‘Urbaser’, since that in 1995 this stopped to provide services in Mazarrón face with the continued failure to pay of the town hall for the services of rubbish collection of which it was in charged.
The Mayor of Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo, has explained that “thanks to the agreement signed today, not only we cope the payment of this historical debt also interests are not generated any more. Interests that, since they started to enter in the accounts, have meant an increase of this debt in almost a 50% of it”. From now, the Town Hall will pay until 2018 8.545.721, 44 euros that we owe to ‘Lábaro’ group.
Ginés Campillo has pointed out that “from this month and until May 2018, will be given 150.000 euros monthly to ‘Lábaro’ group, while this month we will also make an extra payment of 150.000 euros with which will be coped to the generated interests and recognized by three court judgments of the years 1998, 2000 y 2002”. This agreement is possible “thanks to the improvement of the financial situation of the Town Hall since we led the town two years ago”.
The Mayor could not repress the critiques face “the disastrous management that the previous government teams that, despite they have lived times of economic prosperity, have not demonstrated that had interest to work and solve the problems of Mazarrón like it was. Even more so when we have reached an agreement, satisfactory for both sides, in a fast and easy way”.
On the other side, David Caballero has shown his “deep appreciation to the current Government Team for this professional and quick intervention” and has described of “completely inexplicable what the previous administrations did”. According to Caballero, this agreement “is a solution very satisfactory for our group, as it is better start to charge that continue generating interests, solving also the conflict that we had with the Town Hall of Mazarrón”.
The Mayor of Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo, has finished his intervention highlighting that “this debt must have been undertaken long before and it is a sign of laziness of previous politicians that haven´t got any interest to work, neither for their town. They have been interested in other things very different that were not for the general interest. A general interest by which we work and we will defend for the benefit of citizens of the town of Mazarrón”.
