THE ‘LIONS INTERNATIONAL’ WALK IN MAZARRÓN AND PUERTO AGAINST THE DIABETES
The activity had the collaboration of the Town Hall, Red Cross and ‘Amigos de la Naturaleza’ (Friends of Nature)
This last weekend the club ‘Lions International – Bahía de Mazarrón’ carried out two “solidarity walks” in Mazarrón and Puerto de Mazarrón to raise funds that will be addressed to finance the trip of some children that suffer diabetes to a special campsite for diabetics. The activity had the collaboration of the council for Sports of the Town Hall of Mazarrón and club of trekking, Amigos de la Naturaleza.
Precisely, the event of Saturday, which started in Convento square, the “Leones de Mazarrón” received the visit of the councilor for Sports of the Town Hall of Mazarrón, Andrés Valera, and of the president of this trekking association, Rafael Peral, who guided the walk of that day. The club also received the support of ‘Red Cross Mazarrón’ headed by its president, Carmen Navarro.
The spokeswoman of ‘Lions International – Bahía de Mazarrón’, Virgina Barker, thanked enormously “the collaboration of the Town Hall, the ‘Amigos de la Naturaleza’ and ‘Red Cross’ who have put all their interest in this activity”. Also, Andrés Valera congratulated “to The Lions for carrying out initiatives like this, as the possibilities of suffering diabetes can be be reduced if walks are held weekly like these that this club proposes”.
