A FIRST-AID POST FOR PERCHELES AND THREE BEACHES WITH VIGILANCE UNTIL 14 SEPTEMBER
The Town Hall has increased the endowment for the Plan Copla this year in 14.052,16 euros
In a new effort to improve safety on the beaches and achieve greater tourist excellence, the Town Hall of Mazarrón has increased the funding intended to the Plan Copla in 14.052,16 euros, until 259.046,90€ . This increase will represent important news that yesterday were presented by Ginés Campillo, Mayor of Mazarrón, Carmen Navarro, president of Mazarrón Red Cross with which the agreement was signed to implement the plan, and Pedro Hernandez, head of Civil Protection of the Tow Hall of Mazarrón. There will be 46 lifeguards, three coordinators, one exclusive 112 operator for beaches, 2 operational ambulances and 4 rescue boats (3 motorbikes, 1 zodiac), among other transportations and material resources.
One of the main news will be the opening of a first-aid post on the beach of Percheles which will be operating daily from 1st July to 31st August. In addition, it will extend the plan's coverage until 14th September in the post of El Puerto-Rihuete, La Reya and El Castellar, when last year it ended on 4th September. In addition, the itinerant vehicle will remain in the area of the Creeks of Bolnuevo "that for first time it gave excellent results because it helped us to strengthen certain posts at certain moments and carried out an important informative work", said Pedro Hernández.
The measures of the Plan Copla begins this Sunday, June 1, as during the first fortnight of June will open the weekends the posts of Puerto-Rihuete, La Isla, La Reya, El Castellar and Bolnuevo. During the second fortnight this service remains, expanding into the posts of Puerto-Rihuete and La Reya with daily vigilance. During the months of July and August, the 14 authorized posts will open daily. These will be El Mojón, El Alamillo, Puerto-Rihuete, El Puerto, La Isla, Bahía-Reya, La Reya, La Pava, Nares, El Castellar, Bolnuevo-Camping, Bolnuevo-Centro, Bolnuevo-Oasis and the new of Percheles.
Finally, from 1st to 14th September the posts of Puerto-Rihuete, La Reya and El Castellar will remain open "collecting in this way the demand that many tourists made last year to the Town Hall Mazarrón and Red Cross Mazarrón, which with this signature maintains its commitment to provide all staff and material resources that we have to configure a mechanism perfectly engaged with the municipal emergency services", said Carmen Navarro, who recalled that the "controlled bath time will be this year again from 11:30 to 19:30 ".
The Mayor of Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo, has highlighted that "since we led the Town Hall, we have expanded the Plan Copla each year against the cuts and other restrictions that others would impose surely". The mayor highlighted that "this gradual improvement is taking us to provide a better vigilance on beaches that, added to the work of expanding services and daily cleaning, are putting our coast at the head of the Region as to quality concerns". Ginés Campillo wished that this year "we can again enjoy a quiet summer" as it indicates that in 2013 the incidences on beaches decreased between 60 and 70% regarding the previous year.
