This Sunday 14th October it is celebrated the  II Popular Race  “Bahía of Mazarrón” that consists of a route of 10 kilometers and that will be developed along the coast of Mazarrón. So it was announced by Andrés Valera, council of Sports of the Town Hall of Mazarrón, and Pedro Lorite, president of the Club Deportivo “Bahía de Mazarrón” who is in charge of the race organization. As explained the council of Sports “we will confront with lot hope this race that the last year had a big success despite of being a new initiative”.

Pedro Lorite said that  “the route will be the same that the last edition. The race will start from the Comunidades Autónomas square  of Puerto de Mazarrón going for El Rihuete to go to Alamillo, from where it will follow direction to Playa Grande and  finally back to the start point”. The race will start at 10:30 h. so that the president of C.D. “Bahía de Mazarrón” has requested the “collaboration of the citizens, as some streets of Puerto will be closed to the traffic between 10:30 to 12 noon”.

The registrations, that almost already reach  the 200 participants of the first edition, can be done though the web site www.clubdeportivobahiademazarron.es “to the symbolic price of 8 euros”, stated Lorite. For the sport event it has been created 4 categories, in male and female modality, that are divided in Senior -until 35 years-, Veterans A –until 45 years-, Veterans B –until 55 years- and Veterans C –from 55 years and older-. The council of Sports has encouraged to the neighbors and tourists “going out to enjoy the race and animate to the participants, as the last year it was a sport event very showy of which enjoyed  athletes and public, as it is developed in a place of incomparable beauty as our coast”. Andrés Valera has wanted to thank the effort of the C.D. “Bahía de Mazarrón” and to the participants to organize the race, and also the work that again will display for the right development of the race Civil Protection, Red Cross , Police and the Cycling Club “9 y ½“ of Puerto de Mazarrón.
