A new association has born in Mazarrón called  “Alcedo”. The council of Environment and Citizen Participation, David Fernández, and the president of the new association, Consuelo Murcia, were the responsible of present it to the media. David Fernández was very satisfied with “the launch of a new association that works for the protection and preservation of the Environment and that, sure, is going to participate actively in the activities that will be developed in the town”.

On the other hand, Consuelo Murcia highlighted that “Alcedo is going to work  especially with children and  youngs of Mazarrón to educate them and teach them in regard to the protection of the Environment”, although this association also is interested to involve the foreign residents and, and in fact, some activities show a special interest for this collective. Among the activities, next Thursday 29th November will travel to CEMACAM environmental education center in Torre Guil.

The activity consits in a workshop about the healthy uses of the plants and  good environmental practices at home. “Alcedo” proposes a workshop about the traditional use that has been made of the plants propoerties as alternative to the use of cosmetic products and conventional chemical. The workshop with a price of 10 euros includes  the transfer bus round trip, the activity and the meal of the day. For more information you can write an email to asociacionalcedo@gmail.com. If the interested person is a foreign resident, they have a telephone 648 251 342 where the person can be treated in english. A translator will accompany to the group to the  CEMACAM so that they can follow at any moment  the explanations of the instructors of the workshop and also know the details of the bioclimatic building that is the CEMACAM. Also, in February  “Alcedo” will carry out the reforestation of an urban area of Camposol in which also will participate the club “Leones Bahía de Mazarrón – Lions International”.
