THIS SATURDAY WILL CELEBRATE THE III PHOTOGRAPHIC JOURNEYS OF THE PROJECT “EXPLÁYATE”

The meeting point will be the petrol station of Cañada de Gallego at 10 a.m.

Columbares Associtation is going to celebrate this saturday 27 October the III Photographic Journeys of the environmental volunteering project in Bahía de Mazarrón title “Expláyate”. This project is making different actions of environmental awareness and  restoration of beaches to involve to the local population and to the tourists in the environmental preservation and  restoration of  degraded areas. Also, are working with the users of the sport fishing to promote sustainable fishing habits.

In this occasion the meeting point for the different participants of the photographic journeys will be the petrol station of  Cañada de Gallego at 10 a.m. From there will depart the activity that, as has explained the association, “will travel one of the most beautiful areas of Bahía de Mazarrón, where there are wide range of contrasts in its countryside and its vegetation. The itinerary hasn´t got any difficulty and it is thought for everybody, whether you are a professional photographer, amateur or you have a small camera”.

The activity is totally free and to participate only you have to register through the email columbra@columbares.org or in the telephones  968 82 42 41or 675 18 35 32. Also you can call to the Environment Council of the Town Hall of Mazarrón (968 33 93 40) that collaborates in the promotion and diffusion of this project for the important role that supposes the enhancement and protection of the natural heritage of Mazarrón. The best photos will be selected for the creation of an  'online' exhibition that will be published in the web site of Columbares Associaion, and also in different business of Mazarrón.

One of the most outstanding actions of the project, and that will have the collaboration of the Town Hall of Mazarrón, will arrive on 3rd November with the restoration  of the beaches of Las Cobaticas and Cabezo de La Pelea in which the volunteers “will delimit and regenerate two parking areas, will regenerate two roads and will plant 300 trees of different  autochthonous varieties of flora”, as has said this association. This initiative forms part of the Beaches, Volunteering and Land Custody program developed for the Biodiversity Foundation and promoted for the ministry of Agriculture, Alimentation and Environment.
