SAN JOSE FESTIVITY IS ENJOYED BY HUNDREDS PEOPLE IN AND OUT OF THE TOWN
The parade of the Patron day, the medieval market and the I Tapa Route, great successes of this festivity
Yesterday Mazarrón Port ended its San José festivities of this year that have been marked by the citizen participation and some companies and collective of the town that have made possible that the festivities of this year had got a great success. Amoung the activities that most have liked to the citizens ,for the residents and for those who came from other towns, it has to be stood out the parade that yesterday Monday was carried out for the Beach Promenade and other streets of Port and in which participated 10 groups.
The parade was opened by the band of bugles and drums “Virgen de las Penas” which was followed by the children groups "Escuela de Baile Antonio Jara", "Peña Los Valientes" the "AMPA Ginés García", "AMPA La Molineta" and "AMPA Los Caleñares". After them paraded the Musa of Carnival 2012, Lorena López Díaz, and the groups "Asociación Cultural La Cañadica", "Comparsa Sal Salá", "Peña Salitre" and "Comparsa Masupae" of Totana. The parade was closed by the group of the Senior Center of Mazarrón Port dressed with the typical costume of huertano (farmer).
Other of the activities that also were a success in these festivities has been the medieval market set in Rihuete promenade and which has been composed by a large number of stands in which could buy infinity of handicrafts, jewelry and complements, presents, and also food productos. The citizens and hoteliers have thanked enormously to the Town Hall this initiative that has been added to the fair set in the same area and that has filled of life the Rihuete area.
Other of the initiatives that most has liked has been the celebration of the I Tapa Route “La Mar Salá” organized by the radio station “Radio Costa Cálida” and that the people hope that repeat next year to the success of this first edition. To all of this we have to add the concerts of the groups “Los Luisos”, which gathered a large number of people, “Siempre Locos”, “K-Noykenoh”, “The Slummin Angel´s”, “Orquesta Zona Azul” and the artists “Silviña” and “Michel Havana”. Also gathered a large audience the dance show of the dancing school of “Antonio Jara” and the serenade to the patron carried out by a group of huertanos (farmers) composed by senior people of Port.
In sport we have to highlight, besides of Paddle, Petanque and Tennis championships, the “Kedada Mountain Bike” of the cycling club “9 y ½” that arrived until the Castles area, the exhibition contest of fishing “Mar-Costa” (Sea-Coast) modality by Fishing Club of Mazarrón Port and the I Marathon Ciclo Indoor carried out by “BAHIASUR” and “OLIMPO” gyms . Also, on Sunday the keen on petanque could enjoy of the semifinal and final fo the Regional Championship of individual Petanque held on the racetrack of Petanque Club of Mazarrón Port.
The patron, San José, had this year two masses. The first one was a rociera (rocio) mass held on the Promenade with the rociera connvivance organized by sevillanas association “Aires de Mazarrón”. The second one was held yesterday afternoon in San José Church of Port and after that it was carried out the procession with the image of the patron that was chaired by Mazarrón Mayor, Ginés Campillo, together with some councils as the first deputy Mayor, Francisco García, and the council of Festivities, Isidro Coy. This last council has wished that for the next year be formed a festivity commission to be responsable of organizing and coordinating the festivity porgram as happens in other neighborhoods and districts of the town.
