Some days ago it was constituted the Association of Tourist Accommodations “Bahía de Mazarrón” that has the support of the Town Hall to defend the interests of this sector and with the objective of promoting the tourism during all the months of the year in our town. The presentation of this association was made by Mazarrón Mayor, Ginés Campillo, who was together with the president  of the association, Joaquín Carrasco, and the council of Tourism, Education and Culture, María Celeste Soria.

With the presence of representatives of different establishments of the town it was held last week the meeting in which was decided the constitution of this association that has as objective to defend the  interests of the sector and collaborate with other public and private entities in the tourist development of  Mazarrón Bahía. Among its aims are to prepare different actions for the promotion of the tourism in the Bahía and become in the main interlocutor of the sector with the public administrations. The association has its seat in the town of Mazarrón and to it can join all those establishments that give accommodation that are inside of Mazarrón Bahía.

In that meeting proceed to the signature of the constitutional act of the association, as well the approval of its statutes. Later it proceed to te electios of the board of directors that has been composed by the following people. The president of the association is Joaquín Carrasco, from  “Bellavista” apartments, while as vice president is Jacinto García from “Los Delfines” camping. The post of treasurer is for Francisco José Muñoz, “Playasol” hotel, and Javier Masían, from “Balneario de Mazarrón – Hotel Sensol”, and José Antonio Navarro, from  “Los Cisnes” pension, will be the vocal. Finally the post of secretary is for  the tourism technician of the town hall, Pío Garrido.

During the presentation Joaquín Carrasco thanked to the Town Hall and to the Government Team “their support for that this association has definitely begun because until that moment we were very sleepy ” and ensured that “we will work side by side with the town hall to start politics of support to the tourist sector”. Also, Carrasco presented some needs that they have to undertake  as “compatible the efficient agriculture with the tourism, bet for a public transport of quality, continue improving the cleaning services and rubbish collection, and make works of staff training  that involves a real professionalization of the sector”, and so on.

Mazarrón Mayor, Ginés Campillo, agreed with the exposition of the president of the association and explained that “since we got in the town hall we are working in some needs that have been proposed”. For Ginés Campillo “the important is to listen and work  with all those that compose this sector, or any other  , to cover the needs that exist in the town  with the tourism, culture, education, sport or social subjects”. Mazarrón Mayor has explained that  “this together work will be which will help us to face the present economic situation, and its main objective must be to create a strong town ”. In Tourism, “is our obligation that Mazarrón be a  tourist reality and not a potential as has happened in the last 40 years”. Such is the compromise of the Government Team with this  objective that “soon will know the news about the improvement of the service of public transport, or as well about the professionalization of those that work or want to work in this sector”. New measures that will add to the effort that the town hall undertakes daily to make Mazarrón a tourist destination  of first order.
