WWW.MAZARRON1572.ES MAKES AVAILABLE TO THE INTERNET USERS THE 440 ANNIVERSARY OF GRANTING OF THE PRIVILEGE
170 people will participate tomorrow in the walking route “Towers and Castles of Mazarrón”
The celebration of the 440 Anniversary of the granting of Privilege of the Villa of Almazarrón has its place on the web. The website www.mazarron1572.es was presented yesterday by Mazarrón Mayor, Ginés Campillo, and the council of Culture, Tourism and Edcuation, María Celeste Soria. As explained the Mayor “we have wanted that the website of the conmemoration of the independence of the town was simple and easy of using, to whatever user has on hand all the information related with this celebration, as well the proprogramming that we are setting for that Mazarrón is this year the center of attention”.
The website is divided in 7 different sections. The first one, the “Presentation”, collects the objectives that the Town Hall pursues with the celebration of this onomastic. Between them “to strengthen our historical identity, aglutinate the feeling of hold and extend the pride belonging to the mazarronera community and promote and value our cultural patrimony”, commented Ginés Campillo, who added that in the second one, entitled “Anniversary”, “it is explained the history of the grant of Privilege by Felipe II in the historical context of the time”.
The third one, “Events”, collects all the activities and planned acts to commemorate the independance of the town. Between them the celebrations of the “Walking route Towers and Castles” that will be tomorrow and that will do a total of 170 people that will come from almost all the places of Murcia Region. As explained Rafael Peral, the president of the walking club “Friends of Nature” that organizes the activity, “15 days ago we had to paralyze the registrations because we overcame the maximun of participants that we have marked”. Such has been the success of the call and as high number of people which couldn´t register that “we are looking for a date for that in October we can repeat this route that will show to the participants the artistic, monumental, archaeological and natural patrimony of the town”, said Peral.
Departing at 8 a.m. from Casas Consistoriales (Town Hall), first monument to visit, the route will walk Los Vélez Castle, San Andrés Church, Molinete Tower, argárico town of Cabezo de Plomo in Las Moreras mountain range, Caballos Tower and the erosions of Bolnuevo, Interpretation center of the Phoenician Ship, Roman Factory of salt fish and Santa Isabel Tower in La Cumbre, where will finish the walk. The Town Hall has edited some commemorative T-shirts that will be distributed, with a lunch-meal, to all the participants arrived from Cartagena, Totana, Abarán, Caravaca, Moratalla, etc.
The fourth section of the website is dedicated to the “440 years of History” of Mazarrón where, besides of the video “The century of the Miracle”, we can find digital books edited by the town hall for the students of Infant and Primary school of the town that review the history of the town, the origianl document of the Privilege and a link to Carmesí Project where the website www.regmurcia.com has digitized the historical records of Murcia Region.
The fifth section, “Our Familiar Album ”, invites to the citizens to send their photos through a simple system to visualize on the web. The photographs can be actual or old, either activities carried out with occasion of the celebration of the independence, or as well those that the neighbors want to share to remember and leave constancy on the web of the past and the history of Mazarrón. The sixth section is dedicated to the “News” where will be collecting the information of the events that will be celebrated in this year.
Finally the seventh section, “Contact”, provide to the users an email address (info@mazarron1572.com) to send to the organizers of 440 Anniversary their suggestions and impressions. The council of Culture, Tourism and Education, María Celeste Soria, highlighted that “this website opens a new window outward with which we want to promote Mazarrón. Surely the web will be a first contact with the potential tourists that will arrive to our town and those who we will show the best of our culture, patromony, traditions and history through the celebration of this Anniversary that we feel tremendously proud”.
