ENVIRONMENT ORGANIZES A TRIP TO THE SOLAR PLANT OF TABERNAS NEXT TO ALCEDO
The visit will have an english interpreter for the foreign residents that want to participate
The council of Environment, in collaboration with the environment association “Alcedo”, has organized a trip to the town of Tabernas (Almería) to visit the facilities of its Solar Plant, the biggest centre of investigation and test of Europe dedicated to the solar technologies of concentration. The trip is scheduled for the next Saturday 27th April and its price is 10 euros per person. The departure by bus is scheduled at 8 h. from Puerto de Mazarrón, but fifteen minutes later the bus will pass for Mazarrón and at 8:30 will pass for Camposol.
Besides of the travel by bus and the visit to the Solar Plant , the trip also includes other interesting visits and related some of them with the environment. So, it is scheduled that the participants visit the town of Sorbas, famous for its pottery and for its hanging houses over the gorge of Alfa that reminds to the hanging houses of Cuenca. Other of the scheduled visits will be at the Wool Museum, where ethnographic and ethnological aspects are linked with the denominated industrial archeology.
It will be also of a great interest the visit to the eco-village of Molinos del Río Aguas inside of the natural area Karst in Yesos of Sorbas. An example of natural and human biodiversity where is lived with the water that comes from the river, the food provided by the land and the energy that provides the sun. A walk along the headwater of the River Aguas, where enjoy of crystal water and mysterious caves, will put the end to the visit to the almeriense town and return to Mazarrón about 19 h. The participants can bring their own food, or have a lunch menu in the restaurant of the area for 10 euros. Also, is advised to bring water, proper shoes and solar protection.
The council of Environment, David Fernández, has explained that “it is an activity in which we have combined the leisure with the interest for the Environment traveling to an area very beautiful but unknown for much people, hence it is a good opportunity to enjoy of a different day ”.
