JOIN TO THE CAMPAIGN OF REFORESTATION OF CABEZO DEL SANTO AND THE MOLINETE WITH AUTOCHTHONOUS PLANTS
The activity has been organized by “Amigos de la Naturaleza” (friends of nature) and “Reforestadores Mazarrón” (Mazarrón reforesters) and will be held next weekend
The citizens of Mazarrón are called to participate, next weekend, in a new initiative to defend and protect the environment. The hiking Club “Amigos de la Naturaleza” (friends of Nature) with “Reforestadores Mazarrón” (Mazarrón reforesters) have organized for the days 18 and 19 February a reforestation day that will take place in the areas of Cabezo del Santo and El Molinete in Mazarrón, which will be replanted with autochthonous plants.
In the activity collaborates Mazarrón Town Hall, through Environment Council, and the nurseries “Maestra”, “La Fuencisla” and “Gardenia” who participate in the initiative donating the plants and trees which will be replanted by volunteers. The meeting point will be Miguel Ángel Blanco garden from 9 am, for Saturday and Sunday as well.
The act of presentation of the campaign was carried out by the environment council, David Fernández, the president of “Amigos de la Naturaleza”, Rafael Peral, and the representative of “Reforestadores Mazarrón”, Consuelo Murcia. David Fernández has explained that “although the activity is opened to everybody, it has been proposed thinking in children so that they get a compromise with the natural areas of the town since their early years”.
In fact, the reforestation day on Sunday 19th, that will take place in El Molinete, will participate components of ASPADEM association. As explained Rafael Peral “will be planted about one hundred of autochthonous plants which can be mentioned the thyme, the rosemary, the palmettos and some pine”. As explained Consuelo Murcia “the activity wiil help as well to the children to know and differentiate various species of autochthonous flora, so that the activity has also a pedagogical work”.
To end, as the council of environment has highlighted, “this initiative intends to inculcate to the children and youth the love for the nature, implicated in its defense and conservation”.
