A MESSAGE FROM THE COUNCILLOR FOR CAMPOSOL
I urge anybody who may witness any type of damage to call 112 and report criminal damage to council property
It has recently been brought to my attention that the newly created football pitch in Sector D has been vandalised by some unknown miscreant individuals who poured a gluey, type of substance all over the pitch, without taking into consideration the safety of the users or the cost of replacing the affected playing surface.
The culprit/s of such destructive and dangerous action can only be described as the lowest misfit of society, incapable and unworthy of a civilised community.
The 5-a-side football pitch was built by the Council on land that had always been designated for sports' activities, following a 15-year campaign to provide Camposol with such a facility for the enjoyment of young and old alike, indeed the vandalism was discovered by a group of our more mature neighbours who had arrived to play a game of walking football, a pastime recommended as a healthy physical exercise for those of an age looking for less strenuous exertions.
What sort of message does this type of wanton hooliganism convey to the rest of Mazarrón and the Town Council when the urbanisation is in need of investment, yet petty individuals would rather destroy than improve.
I urge anybody who may witness any type of damage to call 112 and report criminal damage to council property.
